Elevate Ensemble will present Schoenberg’s Chamber Symphony paired with my second commission for the very same instrumentation.
The all-female group, Hubbard Quartet, presents a program of all female composers in their first concert tour of the West Coast. In collaboration with curator Emma Logan, the program includes Julie Barwick’s “Shroud” and Vivian Fine’s “Capriccio”, and the West Coast premiere of Devree Lewis’ “Luz de Agosto” and Marilyn Zupnick’s “Oboe Quartet No. 1”.
The San Francisco Guitar Quartet will premiere by piece, Split, as well as present a program of works by Paul Dresher, Gary Eister, Carlos Rafael Rivera, Paulo Bellinati, Bryan Johanson, Mark Knippel and Phillip Houghton.
Elevate Ensemble presents a concert full of pieces inspired by Stravinsky’s “The Soldier’s Tale” as well as the original piece itself. As part of my composer-in-residence with Elevate, they will be premiering my new piece that picks up the story 33 years after the end of the original “The Soldier’s Tale.”
Experience love, loss, struggle, strength and Mother Nature with soprano Winnie Nieh and pianist Paul Dab. Featuring female composers Clara Schumann, Libby Larsen, Emma Logan, Julie Barwick and Rita Zhang, this program is sure to delight!
