Masked (2015)
about
Masked implies something hidden to the outside world. In this piece I treated many elements in this way: rhythmic and melodic figures and even the guitars themselves mask each other. Finally, I imagined what kind of music I might want to write if I were also wearing a kind of mask that would hide my identity as a composer. At times, the mask "falls off" in places and true elements are revealed.
Masked was written for Guerrilla Composers Guild and Ignition Duo: Ramon Fermin and David Gonzales.
